Shannon Airport Facilities
Shannon Airport is Ireland’s second largest airport and caters for over three million passengers every year. With a new terminal built just a few years ago it offers excellent facilities for passengers.
As with any modern airport you will find banks and bureaux de change; left luggage; postal facilities; Internet access; religious facilities; an airport information desk and tourist information desk; and an executive lounge.
If you are driving, Shannon Airport offers both short-term and long-term car parking. Short-term parking, for anything less than a day, can cost between €1 and €15. Long-term car parking costs €8.50 per day or €42 per week.
If you choose not to rent a car for your stay, you can easily catch a bus to your destination of choice. Ireland’s national carrier Bus Eireann provides connections to and from all of Ireland’s major cities.
Meanwhile, there are also some private services on offer. Citylink runs between Galway City and Shannon Airport, while JJ Kavanagh & Sons provides services to Limerick and Dublin Airport.
There are a few places to eat at Shannon Airport, including a self service café on the first floor and a bar. There are a number of shops and duty free-style shops behind the security clearance area. As with any modern airport, Shannon Airport has facilities for the disabled, including specially adapted lifts, payphones, vending machines and toilets.
